Let's DO This!

Whole30 Day 11:
Pre-WOD- mixed nuts
Post- WOD - Ground turkey, couple slices of sweet potato
Breakfast - Ground turkey, couple slices of sweet potato
Snack - couple slices of kiwi w/a few carrots & avocado
Lunch - Tilapia, broccoli & mushrooms, avacado
Snack - few rasberries, mixed nuts
Dinner - Grilled chkn, sweet potato, broccoli, avocado

So this week has, as promised by Daren, been a tough week. The eating part is not so hard, only because I enjoy eating what I'm eating. The workouts are a bit tough to get through though. I've had to add more fat in my pre-workouts, especially when I do a PM workout.
On a good note- the physical changes to my body are quite simply, amazing! I think I am just amazed about how quickly my body responded to this diet. I would recommend this to all those out there really wanting to lose a few pounds. Oh and as for wanting to know "how much weight I have lost" (b/c I am kinda interested, even though I never weigh, just go by how my clothes fit) there is no weighing or measuring until the full 30 days is complete! So I guess if my pants start falling off, then Im doing pretty good! Haha :-)

A Little bit Stronger

Whole30 Day 10:
Breakfast - 2 eggs w/1 yolk mixed with some broccoli & cauliflower, couple slices of sweet potato
Snack- Carrots & avocado
Lunch - Grilled chicken, broccoli, avocado
Snack - Almonds & mac nuts, carrots & avocado
Pre workout - 2 egg yolks, and a few nuts
Post workout - 1 boiled egg (no yolk), couple slices of sweet potato
Dinner - Salmon, asparagus, avocado

Yesterdays WOD was pretty tough, felt a bit sluggish going into it. I think this is because I may not have eaten enough pre-workout. I feel I'm at the point in the diet where I am seeing & feeling results and I am liking them. Therefore, I am scared to eat too much of the wrong thing, but at the same time I could probably eat more of certain items. Everyday I learn something new about the Whole30 diet, yesterday was not to have protein as a snack. I am sure I was told this prior to starting the diet, but I was given a lot of information, so I continue to learn as I go.

Today has been a crazy day. I've been feeling a little extra hungry today, but drank water to try to fill the cravings. Went to a new place called Genghis Magnolia Grill...its AWESOME! There is a raw food bar and you choose any single ingredient that goes onto your food! So its perfect for all you Whole30 dieters out there!

**Also, if anyone out there has any questions, comments, or recommendations feel free to ask or tell. Or if you notice I need to add or take out anything Im eating, let me know as well (thanks Daren for yours, keep 'em coming!)

It just goes to show ya that the slightest changes make the biggest difference. And honestly, I'm full after every meal. Now i know week 2 might be a bit more difficult and challenging- but I'll through it. I think already having noticed changes in my body will help me stay motivated and on track to push through those challenging times.

Here We Go!

Sorry for the late post! So last night I went to see Paranormal Activity 2...umm ya! So in order not to be tempted by the wonderful smell of movie theater popcors, I had dinner before. I had a turkey patty w/avocado and broccoli (same as lunch). It was so good though so i didnt mind. I figured having an early meal (6ish) would leave me hungry about 930 or so. Not the case at all, I was still satisfied when I crawled into bed! Now for today...Saturday has been an easy and relaxing day, was the perfect time to go to the grocery store and get some food for the week. I went for a run this morning and did a little upper body work. But during my run I did feel a little different, a bit lighter! On the other hand I did feel a bit weak. Probably because I didnt consume enough before I went to run. After I ran I had a couple slices of deli turkey and 1 boiled egg (no yolk). For lunch I cooked a receipe I found from the wholelifeeating.com. It's called Chicken and Zucchini, under the chicken section. It was really good and easy to prepare! I also had it for dinner. But before I had dinner I grabbed an unsweetened iced green tea w/no water from Starbucks. *Remember though- no sweeteners (splenda, stevia, truvia) only lemon can be added. Hmm...well I cant think of anything else! Except for that I cant believe Mizzou just beak Oklahoma! WOW! NIGHT!

GO RANGERS!

Meet Luke-gotta give him a shout out too! This is my nephew--he loves baseball (Rangers & Aggies of course.) Cant wait to see him and play some ball!

Today started off nice! Got to sleep in a bit since I didn't go workout this morning. Today is supposed to be my off day, but I might get some arm work in later and stretch some. Gotta increase this upper body strength for sectionals (and in general too!) As for the diet, it is day 5, still feeling good! Kinda could have gone for a little something sweet last night, but resisted the urge of course, went for water w/lemon instead! This morning for breakfast I had 4 eggs (only used about 1 & 1/2 of the egg yokes) and mixed it with some spinach. Sprinkled it with a little sea salt and pepper, and TA-DA, breakfast! Simple and quick. Lunch I plan on having a turkey patty with some avocado along with broccoli. Then I don't know about dinner yet, but lasts nights was very good!! :-)

PS~ Anyone see Paranormal Activity 2 yet?? I plan on it tonight!!! No popcorn though! haa!

Full moon tonight....

Meet Adalyn Rogers (my niece) she's been modeling lately, and she rocks! I haven't seen her in about a month, I miss that baby girl! (Photo by: Alex Wolf--what can I say, I have a talented family :-)

Well...its Thursday now...I've been meaning to blog everyday during this diet--from today on I will be sure to post daily!! So, its day 4...and i really do feel great. This morning I popped out of bed at 445am (no snooze needed) and made my way to my 530am WOD. I had some good energy (possibly from my handful of almonds/cashews before the workout) and felt great and ready to sweat! After the workout I had 1 boiled egg (no yoke) and a couple slices of sweet potato w/a pinch of cinnamon. Was yummy!! Breakfast, which comes a couple hours later, I had about 2-3 slices of turkey w/some avocado. I seriously might turn into an avocado because I eat it all the time and I kinda love it! :) Lunch time came and I had 1 palm sized grilled chicken breast along with about 3 slices of sweet potato. A little later for a snack I grabbed a few almonds/cashews/macadamia nuts (not too many though.) Now it is almost dinner time and I'm not starving at all, I actually kinda want to go workout! I'm crazy I know! Lastly- for dinner I am about to bake some asparagus--adding a bit of sea salt, pepper, garlic, and olive oil-- along with some fish, either salmon or tilapia. Along with these meals--WATER WATER WATER!! I've been drinking tons of water. Sometimes I will add a splash of lemon to give it a bit of flavor.

Even though it has only been 4 days since I've been on this diet, I haven't really had any cravings. Which is weird because I used to eat apples EVERYDAY!! But I do know one thing...when I do get a craving I will be sure to resist! I just feel way to good to mess it up. Well..time to head to the kitchen!

Today's WOD: 12:21
800m run
50 air squats
400m run
50 lunges
200m run
50 box jumps (18in)

Whole30

Well today is the day. I start my Whole30 diet. This is similar to Paleo, except has no "cheat" meals and is a STRICT 30 day, all or nothing, diet. I'm excited-- only because I have heard and read only great things about it. I'm looking forward to feeling good, having more energy, setting some new PR's, and possibly dropping a few pounds! So, for day 1, so far I have had some eggs and avocado. I'm about go to for lunch and will make some chicken and veges. As for dinner, I'm thinking fish, veges, and some sweet potatoes. Not bad meals at all, but I am looking forward to trying out some new and different recipes!

As for today's WOD-- my hamstring is totally ballooned up and swollen (no clue why) took my fish oil, ibuprofen, and iced it. Next is see my trainer this afternoon to figure this out. So no WOD for me today...treatment is my WOD!
